I don't get why you would spend the money on a JR Tx and Rx when you can fly the Blade with a Futaba or Hitec without touching the 4in1. All that is required is to tune the synth module to the Blade's channel, program, and GO!

Yeah, I was wondering about that myself. My Optic6 works great, only needed programming and changing the pots on the synth module to work with the stock 4-in-1, w/o even requiring a different rx crystal. And I can change it in seconds to fly my MX400.

Cool, just got my 8UHPS programmed for my CP2. Still requires some minor tweaking, but is much better than the stock xmtr already.

Instead of swapping the rx crystal, I swapped the tx crystal from the CP2 TX's module to the 8uhp's module. Both were low band, and works like a charm. -

Anyone fried a tx module doing this? I've searched and had no results showing bad and a few that were good with a 9C doing the same as I. I'll be getting new rx crystal if needed, but if I don't have to I'll hold off.

Crack,

It all sucks: Futaba, JR, Hitec, E-flight, Kyosho, Hirobo, Align, MA, TT, Audacity; the list goes on and on. It all costs tons of money, and the only guys getting any possible ROI are the ones flying camera ships professionally. You buy it and the second it's shipped, it's worth zip. Worse than buying a car.

So my question is, what's your point? Still cheaper to fly the Blade (a cheapie to begin with) with a Futaba or a Hitec...

Henna,

You shouldn't have to worry about frying the module, but you could experience range problems (FCC says it's illegal to change crystals in a module without retuning, sounds like a racket to me). Futaba will retune your module to the channel of your choice for 20 bucks.

the real reason is because I fly/flew nitro before the blade, so I had JR gear (and i do like the jr radios better...personal pref)........

Plus, I was bored at the time, nothing better than to hack something out...lol

Same here. I have a Kyosho Nexus .30 with Futaba gear. I can't say anything good or bad about JR, cuz I have absolutely no experience with it; never even held one in my hand.

Good luck on your relocation, selling your house, etc.

Sounds like all that Katrina stuff is what REALLY sux!!

With all this talk, I'm kinda confused. Is it possible to hack out the old receiver and then put in a Hitec Electron 6 receiver? I then plan to use my optic 6. The reason I ask is that my parents might get me an Electron 6 rx for Christmas. My BCP picks up a lot of interference (I took a bad hit 3 weeks ago and I'm still out of comission) at a Golf dome.

The stock BCP 4-in-1 works just fine as is with the Optic6 as that's my current set-up. No mods to the 4-in-1 required. If you have the Spectra module for your Optic6, then just dial it to the same channel as your current 4-in-1, program your Tx (easy to say, lengthy in reality) and you're good to go.

I used to get a glitch once in a while with the stock Tx, but I can't recall getting a glitch once I started using the Optic6.

BikeNBoatN,
I get a lot of glitches at my golf dome. It's packed and everyone is usually a couple feet away from each other. This makes for a very glitchy environment. I was even getting glitches using a GWS rx and my Optic w/ Spectra. I would also like the security of a Dual Conversion receiver. The last crash I had trashed my new set of blades, bent the flybar, broke a few teeth on my main gear, and broke the landing skids. I incidentally lost my 3s pack, as well. I just want to know if it is possible to use an Electron 6.

Has anyone tried this with the Blade CX? I'd like to use my Eclipse 7 with it once it arrives rather than having to carry around two TX

I answered my own question after receiving my Blade CX. It actually comes with a 4 in 1 unit.

DX6 tx

I'm thinking about buying a bare bones Blade CP and adding the rcvr and servo's that came with the DX6 tx. Does anyone know what else I'd need to purchase? Jerry

using my xp783

This might be a stupid question, but if I get one of the little receivers like the JR610, will it be compatible with my ancient JR XP783 transmitter that has served me well for so long? It is a PCM transmitter and I'm not sure if it will work with ccpm or other receivers.

Thanks,

Jon P.

Another question is whether that "old" Tx will do CCPM mixing or not. If not, then you won't be able to use it with the BCP, as the BCP has a 120* CCPM swashplate.

Did you ever get an answer to your question? You will need some sort of ESC's to run the motors. ESky makes a 3-in-1 which can be plugged into a Rx to run the motors. It has an included gyro. Century also has the Pico Board but they are a bit pricey.
