Matt your terms are reasonable, and the value of what you have is clear. I would recommend you set a minimum in mind, then just keep it out there. Sooner or later, someone who is planning to buy the same setup retail will jump at the savings. This is so big and unique that this type of buyer won't come along often, but when he does, I am sure you will sell it. And if that never happens, someday you can open the crate back up and enjoy the model as you originally envisioned. Good luck with your sale, or your eventual completion of the model.

I too have a model that I would like to sell, but I know that I would be lucky to get half of what I paid to build it. So if I want it gone, I will accept what the market will bear knowing that someone will be getting an extraordinary deal, and more importantly will enjoy the model every bit as much as I did. Not like it has not happened to me before. Or, I may just crate it up and put it in storage to be opened later when I have more time and space to enjoy it again.

Look at the bright side, you didn't buy a fancy sportscar or a boat (which stands for "break-out-another-thousand"). In that case you would eat $10K just driving it off the lot.

keepin' it real

Wow, that is one awesome machine. I don't think anyone here would not want that marvel. It's just a bit expensive. I certainly can't afford it but would love to have one. It will sell, just gotta find the right person to dangle it in front of.

That's one sweet machine!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....item=6010934490

I wish I could spent that amount on a heli right now!

Its definetely a great heli and at a great discount...

Maybe if you have it in a 3-4 months, I will take it...

All the best in the meantime!!

You are quite right, it was on ebay a little while ago, in fact it has been on there several times but nobody ever buys it there either!

I get fed up with it and change my mind, sometimes I convince myself I will build it but I never do, then I think I may as well sell it and so it goes on.

In fact I have just seen a completed one in the Scale Models part of this site and it makes me start thinking about doing it again! They certainly do look good when they are done, I wish I could just wake up one day and it would be completed as if by magic!

Matt... solution to your problem ,,with the beating you are taking on the bird ,,you could take that money that you are loosing and pay some one to finish it for you and then one morning you would wake up and it is finished and instead of loosing money ,,you just paid it out to someone to do the work and still have your pride and joy.

Good luck with the bird ,,wish I had the money,,I would buy it from you.,,as this is a very good price for a very good setup , but alsa I already have a turbine and don't have the time for two

Hello Larry,

I could do that but I would need to find someone to do it to my satisfaction, I may not be the best but I can live with my own mistakes, other people's are not so easy to live with for me!

I have had quite a few turbines now and currently have three including this one, I have owned seven at one time!

I just don't have time for so many helicopters, when I go to shops or search online I forget about all the other stuff I already have, its very stupid and a bit sad but I'm beginning to realise my problem!

We'll see what happens.

Matthew.

I can understand the addition ,,we all have it to some extent ...Still haven't figured if it is good or bad
You might try Sandy at V-east ,,,as he does really great build work and I think he does it for the general public also,,don't know his prices but have seen some of his work and it is superior.
have a look V-east

Hello Larry,

I'm familiar with Sandy's work and its great. Unfortunately I live in the UK and its not terribly convenient for me although I do know of a few people here who could complete the model to a very good standard.

The thing for me is flying something that I built, I think that's the best part, taking out a model that you have done yourself, it could never be the same having someone else do it. They will probably make a better job of it than me but I only do this for my own satisfaction.

We're all different and all do this for our own reasons, mine seem to be a little strange at times but I don't really care.

The thing that gets me about this is that people seem to study the model for ages trying to see what's wrong with it, a bit like a spot the difference competition. I don't understand why everyone seems to think there is something wrong with it, they don't seem to be able to understand that I could buy it and never touch it if there isn't something wrong with it. Well there isn't anything wrong with it at all, I have just had so many nice helicopters and kits that they don't really mean that much to me anymore, I have just had a new turbine helicopter turn up three weeks ago and the only thing I did was check that it was all there, I have barely looked at it, I'm sure most people wouldn't be able to stop looking at it but they all look the same to me now and I'll build it when I get around to it!

I did say I was a little strange didn't I!

Little strange ,,,pretty well sums it up ,,but you seem to be a stand up guy ,,,for across the sea guy which sucks for having Sandy do the work ,,shipping along would cost the price of the bird.
I also know what you mean about flying something you built... but lately here I have decided that I am to busy to paint bird ,,and don't have a good place to do it any more ,,since I remarried and can't do it in the basement.

Maybe you should ask full price then they wouldn't think something was wrong ... but I suspect you have been there done that .

Any way I wish you the best of luck on the sale and your addition to buying .
Larry (V-22 Osprey tilt rotor addict .... I could have several more turbines if it wasn't for this addition.)

Yes, I know its strange, I'm also very stupid where money is concerned, and I'm an accountant! I spend all day looking after other people's money and I blow my own on stuff I'll never use, I never came cross that bit in my studies! The worst part is the internet, I would never even know that half this stuff existed if it wasn't for the internet, I think the worst buy was the computer!

Never mind, for all the things I may be the one thing I definately am is honest

Thanks for the advice but I think posting it on more than one forum is against the rules - and I never break the rules!

In any case, I think anybody who is ever likely to buy it is aware its for sale, its very well known in the UK as I have been trying to sell it for ages, thank god I don't do this for a living, it must be so difficult selling them at the full retail price!

Oh I see, I have tried that before but still no luck.

I think its just the amount of money involved and I just don't think anybody believes that its new, I don't know why I think this, its just the feeling I get.

I don't really know how to prove it to anyone, I have given some people the name of the buyer of a couple of my other turbines earlier in the year but I still have it!

Perhaps its just not as desireable as I always thought it was?

Matthew.

Well, I'd buy it but it would have to be big enough to live in since I'm house shopping and my wife would not be impressed.
