Help!!! I have developed a nasty vibration which appears to be coming from the tail. I have just finished painting the canopy and tail fins (will post pics later), but don't see how that could cause such a vibration. My main blades and paddles are tracking better than ever before, I have tried 2 different sets of rotor blades and have adjusted them tighter and looser. I did notice that one of the screws holding the rear end of the boom supports was loose, but I believe that was a result of the vibration, not the cause. It is still vibrating after I tightened this. The body of the heli shakes with the tail of course, but not nearly as bad, I can still hold a pretty stable hover. Which is what leads me to believe it is somewhere in the tail.

Has anyone else encoutered this problem, or have a suggestions on getting rid of it.

I am flying a Hawk Sport with a TT .39 Pro
Funkey Carbon/Fiber blades
Stock Paddles w/ weights
HiTech digital HS/HT tail servo
and have tried both the stock tail blades
as well as the Century Purple ones.

PLEASE HELP!!
I am stationed over here in Okinawa Japan, so I am pretty much on my own here.

Thanks,
Mike

OkiPilot,

First, nice looking paint job.

I would also advise to check the bearings in the tail rotor blade grips, and the ballance of the tail rotor. The bearings in the Hawk tail rotor blade grips take quite a beating since there is only one radial bearing in each grip.

The government cannot give you anything without first taking it from someone else.

Beautiful paintjob!!!

I too have this problem, at least, to an extent. When the engine idles, the whole tail boom vibrates heavily. As you increase throttle, it turns to a finer vibration and transfers partially to the boom supports ( spun it up without main blades to test this). I don't know what's causing the vibrations--Everything seems fine, and the rest of the heli is almost vibration free. Help!
