Dear Sirs,

I bought for first time 6 Jr servos (DS3421 Premium Digital Servo:Mini) for my LOGO 10 helicopters and I’m having problems with them. I used to fly such helis with Futaba digital servos without problems. I switched to Jr servos because they have metal gears and more torque.

The problem is that when I push the collective stick all they move in the same direction but with glitching even with the main motor disconnected. It seems that the swashplate is having friction against the main shaft. It seems that it needs lubricant but it happens also disconnecting the ball links to the swashplate. I’m very confused.

I was searching the horizonhobby.com site and found that is not a good idea to use such servos with gyros. Is that the problem? I’m using them for the 120 degree collective. My gyro 401 is using its original Futaba servo. Does it affect the function of the 3 Jr servos anyway?

Thank you in advance for your kind help.

you should be fine with those servos on the swashplate. in fact, the 3421's are the pretty much the best option for the L10. when it says not to use 3421's with gyros, it means that you shouldn't use one as your tail servo.

your glitches are probably unrelated to the type of your servos.

Try putting a ferrite ring on the wire from the esc to the rx throttle channel.

yapjy,

Thank you for your comments. The ferrite ring was in place. What I did after that was to separate the servos wiring apart of gyro wiring. They were boundled all together with velcro and may be it was the reason. I did 4 flights yesterday without problems.

Very kind of you!

You are welcomed.

I'm using the P80 too and the wire from the esc to the reciever is quite noisy. A ferrite ring solve the problem for me.
