Have just completed installation of one of those. The intent is to hopefully save the chopper while digging in on 3D manuvers and orientation is lost.
Any last minute advice prior to first flight with this gizmo installed? Does have the Z sensor installed. Everything completely checks out per the installation manual. So, if the Wx looks good here in FTW Tuesday its blast-off time.
Here goes, that day!

It will be interesting to see how you like the CP for bail out.

I have seen one working and I think that by the time you realize the 3D move is not recoverable by you then you are probably too late for the CP to save you.

This is not from experience but from observing the CP in action.

I also thought of getting one as a bail out 'fail safe' but decided against it.

Maybe you will have some positive thoughts after using it?

Good luck and keep up posted on the sucess.

It's works great. Just don't run the gain to high and disable the auto-trim. It will help reduce oscillations.

And yes, it will save your ship when you lose it during 3D. Saved me many time. Just make sure the switch is very easy to find when you are out of control.

I have two of the systems. When learning, fly high & use as a bailout. It works like magic.

I have not used as a bailout for quite a while but...the failsafe saved my XSpec during a lockout caused by a broken crossmember bolt generating RF from the crossmember vibrating against the CF frame. Had a PCM Rx gone to lockout & neutralized the cyclic, it would have been a crash.

If you search my posts, there are several about the FMA system.

The flight recorder takes any guesswork out of what caused glitching, problems, also.

Just my $.02.

Well Well...Whaddya know; took heli out for first flight with the new gizmo and jumped right into backwards flight always my brain-dead spot....lost orientation as usual flipped 9z right slider to turn on A/P and heli was instantly returned to hover. A save.

Jose AB;
Exactly!! Its always there as a bail-out until one becomes half-way salty with un-natural heli attitudes. Think my other 2 helis need one also...at least 'til "saltiness" eventually arrives. So fine to now go to the field without a sense of possible "rebuild foreboding" hanging over the head which was caused by brain-dead attack.

The CP is the most realistic simulator out there. Period.

It's easy to find an excuse to do wrong. Hard is not to find an excuse to do right.

Since installation of the C/P it has paid for itself 4 times so far with learning Figure 8's backward flight...always was my personal " lose orientation and crash " mode of flight. Now just turn on the C/P with the 9Z right slider, recover orientation, and continue. Its just great! I recommend it to anyone who is learning and who lose their orientation and crash so many times you just want to pack it in and switch to tiddly-winks or some other hobby.
An excellent bailout and recover device.
