A couple of weeks back I purchased a shiney new Raptor 70 from one of our members Randy (RDW). You never really know what the other guy has when he tells you that it's new "only hovered to set it up". After many emails and a phone conversation I got a really good feeling about this guy so I sent him the money.

This is what I bought:

He didn't stretch the truth one bit. This heli was in perfect shape. Today I took it up for the first time. Getting the curves set in an also "new to me" 8103 and Gyro working, it was up she goes! Went through a half gallon of fuel tweaking the radio and having a blast.

I've been learning on a really nice little Caliber 30 that flies great even after many... many.... rebuilds. The size, power, and sound of the 70 is addictive. I now know what all the buzz around the larger birds is all about.

Time to start getting fuel by the CASE!!!!! Damn SUVEEE's

What a big difference between this and the Caliber 30. My 30 is squirly as hell compared to this 70. I think tuning the engine will prove to be a bit of a challenge. Time to start searching RR for tips!

I know all about "Raptor Love" I started with a Raptor 50 and OS 50,Gy401 9254. When I purchased the R50 I was undecided between that and a Venture 50,but went with the Raptor. It flew/flies great since day one. Well having a 9303 I had to get a eCCPM model so I bought a Venture 50 with an OS 50,from a friend. After setting it up and flying it I thought it was not near as nice as my R50. Snice I had less $ in the V50,I flew it exculsively, after a while it became no problem. After that I got R90 with a C-Spec pump version and it flew unbelievable but I attributed that to being bigger. So after not flying the R50 for a while I went back to it and what a difference from the V50. The R50 is just awesome,as is the R90. I also got an Ergo 50 from the same friend and it flies like the V50,nowI'm not saying the JR's fly bad, cause they don't,the Raptors just fly better IMHO.

I just put my Caliber 30 (.37) back together and flew it just to set it up last night. I like the contrasting flight styles of the two. I do love the new Raptor but the Caliber is a great heli as well.

Nice having both flying though. I'll see how long I can keep them both in flyable shape
