Maiden flights are over, I'm impressed. Ergo 30 streached to 50, Actro 24-4, Hacker Master 77 Opto, 2 x TP 4s2p 6000mah.
Its a bit under 4 kg but it seems to carry the weight OK.

Pinion is 9 and standard 88 main gear. 8cells give 1710 rotor rpm.

Hi J.D.

Did you make the motor mount yourself?

I'm currently planning on electrifying a JR AirSkipper 50 or Hirobo Sceadu EVO.

I've go an Actro 24-3 in my Logo 20 and i'm quite impressed with it's performance too.

Had the mount made as I don't have a mill.
It is basicly a 10mm 'C' channel, as wide as the frame and a hole bored through it to allow the pinion to go through one side and allow a 'start shaft bearing' to mount in the other. The start shaft is cut down and mounted through the bearing and into the excess pinion hole.

Another pilot goes electric!!! Clean, powerful, quiet, and convenient. Good work!!!! What kind of flight times are you getting and why did you choose that motor combination?

Flight time is 20 minutes (2x10) sport flying. This is the combo that QCM used and I liked his figures and build for his Raptor. It was even simpler converting the ergo, even though now there is very little Ergo left, the upper frames, tail gearbox, main gear and a bit of the head.

I have a stretched Ergo I am considering convering. I will probably use one of the neu ORK motors when they come out. Is the 9 tooth pinion a standard JR part? If so what is the part number?

I think electrics and helis go hand in hand. Nothing like the sound of a big electric heli spooling up with an 8S or higher lipo pack. And the only thing you need to clean up after a flying session are the bugs off the main blades.

The pinion is from a Logo, they use the same dia output shaft as the Actro and it was an easy fit into the mount.
