Finally got the NT running almost perfect with the HAT970 and 30% nitro, when the pipe along with the teflon tube fell from the skies. Went to Throttle hold and autoed it in with no noticable damage...luckily I was rightside up when it happened.

Upon inspection, one end of the spring pipe support had worn out one side of the carbon fiber support. I guess that I lost the spring, and the pipe fell off.

Anyone had similar experiences, and any suggested solutions ??

Thanks,

-elvis

Is the spring not supposed to be held there with a nut and bolt, or is it not mounted in the normal place due to being a smaller pipe ?

Ryan.

I just slipped the ends of the spring in the holes in the CFK support.

I double checked the instruction manual and a couple galleries and it appears that the ends of the spring just sits in the pre-drilled hole in the CFK support.

That's the proper way to mount the spring but if the pipe slips backward out of the coupler, that will happen. I use 2 small machine screws to hold the coupler to the header and the pipe to the coupler. I use the harder teflon coupler so the screws have more to hold onto.
