What are the pros and cons of these large engines? What are your experiences with them?

Overall experience is the OS needs a little more love and care for everyday use, YS fuel up, ignite and fly !!

Both strong engines and great amounts of power. But to get the very best from the OS, it seems that it helps to spend the extra on it, like the 3rd needle, and Viper head.

(JMO, but would be intrested to here from others, as I may be too fussy!)

If its a choice between a stock c-spec ps and a ys then its got to be the ys, just for its ease of use...

Now, get a Clined OS91 c-spec and you've got the power of the os and the fuel system off the ys

I am looking for something reliable which can just be fueled and flown. The worst thing is spending half my flying time and fuel due to tuning. So far the only bad thing I have heard about the YS is bearings going out earlier then the OS. I have always had good luck with the OS engines in reliability and am pretty new to YS.

I have two Tempest ships, one with a YS91 and one with a OS 91 c-spec with a viper head and a cline reg. The YS is a lot easier to start and adjust with its three needle carb. Although both are governed and that makes the tinkering with the throttle curve obsolete. I think the OS puts out more power than the YS. But both ships are rockets and have more than enough power for the style of 3D that I fly. The MP2 muffler stays on better with the through bolts on the OS, then with the thread in bolts of the YS

Overwhelming votes for YS. I already have a YS 91 and will be using it in my Freya 90. I have yet to run it and this will be my first YS.
