Raptor 50 paddle flutter, Does anyone know what could be causing the paddles to flutter around hovering pitch in idle-up? I’m using the white Thunder Tiger paddles, my blade pitch and paddles are precisely aligned using both pitch gage and paddle gages. The heli is new with no slop in the head, everything appears to be balanced with no vibration. The heli flies great until I can visibly see and hear the paddles flutter for a short period of time. I have several other Raptors (30,90) and have never experienced this problem.

Baffled and bewildered

this might be a long shot but did you lube the head dampers?
this sometimes causes a vibe while spooling up/down

The only times I've had a similar problem that sounds like flutter, is
when the washout base was worn.
You could see it rock slightly with the radio on or by holding the swash and slightly twisting the paddle back and forth.
Also check for any other play in the controls, I've had my collective servo get loose too.
Mine would flutter a bit in Idle up when going through 0 collective and it
seemed to be from the blades, was ok after installing a better washout.
Kind of a droning sound, initially I though it was truck traffic on the nearby hiway.

hi catman ,

i have this probleme before but now it's ok !!
my solution is to put lot of greace to the head dampres.
and that depend to the colors of yours head dampers : bleue is medium , and red colors for dampers is hard . if you use red colors , you must lube dumpers .

that my frensh expérience

Catman, not oil , grease. Silicone based grease. Pull the spindle.

My twocents..

FWIW, try using 40 to 60 weight silicone shock oil for model cars...Been using this for abouty a year with very good results...Be sure the thrust bearings are greased, not oiled, and installed correctly...

John.
