You should have channel 4 atv's set at around 80% both ways .this controls your max piro rate. set channel 5 atv's at 50-60% bothways. one way is avcs (heading hold) mode and the other is normal mode. if the tail stars wagging just adjust them down. if not go up until it starts to wag and then back it off. Dont forget the gyro has to be powered up in avcs mode only. if the red light is solid after powerup then you are good. if not turn power of ,flip the channel 5 switch and power up again.
dont forget to set the travel limits with the pot on the gyro and then trim the tail in normal mode mechanically before turning on avcs mode in flight. Also make sure all trims for rudder channel are centered always. hope this helps Tom P.S. make sure the dip switch is in the ds location. it is next to the gyro direction switch on top of the gyro. double check that you have the gyro the right direction

Firsttime, check out http://www.raptortechnique.com its almost required reading for Raptor owners, especially newbs.

He's got setup info for Futaba on that site as well as some great gyro info.
