Just noticed a funny thing and wondering if anyone else has noticed. My glo igniter has a meter on it that is handy for checking for blown elements. When I attach the glo igniter to the remote adapter, the meter barely moves. When I remove the adapter and connect directly to the plug, I get almost a full scale reading. Is there that much resistance in the remote adapters?

I ohmed mine out the other day, it was less than 2 ohms. Most of the resistance is from the glowplug. But I do need to get a new meter to get an accurate reading because this is a cheapy.

Reach under the heli and wiggle the glow extension where it clips to the glow plug, you will see your meter jump up to a higher power reading.......

Remote glow adapter

Tried wiggling the wire and no better. Come to think of it, I had some problems getting it started last trip out. May be time for a new one.

Check Ground

Also, check that you are getting good ground where the glo remote adaptor is attached usually to one of the engine mount mounting bolts.

Had to redo mine last weekend to get good fire to plug.
Cleaned up metal parts good and did not use locktite on that mounting bolt.

i noticed the same thing with the meter on my bran new and fully charged ni-starter, i was having problems starting as well, i changed the clip type extention to the elbow type made by revolution and the meter pinned on full ever since. this is a real nice quality extention, i purchased mine from Helihobby they give you a choice on the revolution or the thunder tiger. the revolution is the one with the rubber elbow and they show a picture of it.

Yup, wiggle the connector on the gloplug and or clean ,
works better when new, later it builds up a residue.
Check the ground and clean off the threads of the mount screw
or use a non coated shiny type with a lockwasher.
One time I did all of the above and my ni-starter shaft was loose
cleaned the threads and tip contacts.
