I'm looking at the T-Rex 450X combo at Heliproz with the brushleess motor and speed controller. http://www4.mailordercentral.com/he...mber=335015COM1

How well does it fly, will it do any inverted or mild 3D with this setup. Also are there any videos out there of a T-Rex flying?
Thanks,Mike

The battery is too small, your flight time will suck!

Google for video's. There are tons!

Search the TREX forum for typical 3d setups. You will find many, many combinations.

....there goes that CA glue sticking to my fingers again!!!!

Looks like the Align 35amp ESC is being supplied. 1500ma Lipo will give you very short flight times though. Contact them for details.

i would buy everything but the motor and battery. i use the AON 3500 and the tanic 3s 2220 with 11tooth pinion, awesome power. i can get 2 5 minute flights on the 2220 and use about 2000 mah. so i wouldnt go with a 3s 2000mah or less. you may be able to go 4s on that setup but im not sure, i also hear that motor gets hot, mine runs about 135 after a 5 minute flight with loops rolls and stuff. the aon 3500kv or the mega is a better choice, search for mega and you can find the hot motor for the trex, hope this helps.

oh and i just did the eccpm setup and it does loops and rolls great! the align swashplate it much smoother than the original plastic. i have been tring to do some funnels with it but the tail blows out, so not sure if it can do much crazy inverted stuff.

Provided you have a powerful motor like the AON, or in my case the astro 020 heli, you can definitely 3D and do crazy inverted stuff. If you mount the TR hub just a mm further out on the shaft, place a thin washer between the pitch slider and ball links, and spend a little time with your gyro, Tx, & servo getting as much travel out of your pitch slider as possible, you will have plenty tail power – I can do fast and large funnels in any direction, tail up or down, and it holds! Just don’t put those stickers on the vertical fin. Don’t even think of not going eCCPM!

Try get a motor with a Kv greater than 3000 and rated to about 300W. More important than your batt’s mAh rating is it’s C rating – older cells with lower C ratings suffer a much greater voltage drop under load and won’t provide a 300W motor the power it needs. I’m using Kokam 2000 3s (15C), get about 9 min and it’s 3d good to the last 25 secs.

BTW, I flew this weekend with the stretch kit and though not completely unexpected, I was somewhat disappointed with the lower responsiveness of the larger, thicker blades. I think the std 315 woods are better for 3d.
