Ok some background on this bird. I picked it up, used, from a friend of mine and crashed it my first flight out. At the time I was flying a Raptor 30 and was looking for something a little more stable. After spending enough to completely replace my Raptor, the Futura was up and flying again. Because of the dollar signs that rolled through my head every time I flew it, I really didn't progress beyond simple forward flight.

About four years ago, I quit flying all together and stuck both of my helis in storage with the thought of selling the Futura. Well as with most things out of site, it was well out of mind. But after relocating for work, I'm back to selling this thing.

It is a Futura SE with carbon side frames and fins. Currently I have a set of plastic tail blades and wood main blades. The main blades need to be replaced or recovered. It is being powered by an OS .60 engine with a Curtis mussel pipe, JR DS 8231 aileron and elevator servos and a JR 8411 collective servo. I will be removing the rest of the electronics to be installed in a new cheaper heli.

What would be a far price for this bird if I was to list it on ebay? I know I’m not going to get out of it what I paid, and the important thing is for it to go to a good home; but I also don’t want to just give it away, if you know what I mean.

Thanks in advance,

Jeremy

I paid U$700 for my almost new Futura SE with OS70, muffler, no electronics, no mainblades and a few spares.
I've seen them go for between U$500 to U$800 for one with your stuff.

Seems the SE has bottomed out as far as resale goes. That sucks, it realy is a nice machine. I have one converted to a 90 and it is the nicest heli I've flown. I traded a Freya for my SE, that's esentialy 500.00 for a carbon framed SE. I am interested in picking up another SE, I have some stuff to trade, maybe a deal could be struck.
Good luck,
Alan

the thing with robbe heli's like these, including the futura se,is that they are good solid flying machines that require very little maintenance and are very expensive to buy new and also have a high spare part's cost when the need arises.unfortunatly, when you try to sell these machines, they don't fetch a great deal of money due to the over pricing of the kit in the first place{the new millenium 3 cost's £850 for the kit alone}strange as it may seem,a raptor 60 would retain more of it's value when sold secondhand than a futura se would.(you can often find a futura se secondhand for the same price as a secondhand raptor 60}for this reason,it's better to keep these heli's than sell them if you can,if that's at all viable.i know this is not what you wanted to hear but there will come a time when you will regret selling your robbe heli for the little amout you get for it.i would just keep it and have a cheap heli to practice with.a shuttle would wear out at an alarming rate compared with the robbe heli your selling,it also won't feel "solid" like the futura se.

I say put it on ebay with a starting bid price of $450 and see where it goes. You can always relist later for a lower price. Link the auction here and anywhere else Robbe guys will see it that allows links to ebay acutions

keepin' it real

Thanks for your opinions. I'm not sure what I want to do at this point. It is obvious I’m not going to get out of it what I had dreamed.

Let me ask you this, where is the best place to purchase parts? My local hobby shop doesn’t carry anything but Raptor V2 parts and a hobby shop about half an hour way has a major markup on everything they sell, sometimes as much as an addition 100%. Also, while I’m thinking of parts, is there a company that makes cheaper aftermarket parts?

If I remember correctly, the last tail shaft I purchased was like $20 compared to $6 or $7 for any other bird. If I can find somewhat reasonability priced parts, I’ll probably just start flying it again. It really did fly nice and solid. Much better then my Raptor 50.

Thanks again for you help,

Jeremy

Parts

Either Robbe USA or Rick's for parts in the USA. RCmarket.com also sells parts but they are not based in the US. You won't find anyplace selling parts for the same price as a Rappy. The parts are priced high compared to some machines but I think they are pretty close to the price of comparable machine. Just for grins, figure up a list of standard crash parts, then go to Rick's and do a price comparison for those crash parts, don't go piece by piece but look at the total. Don't compare Rappy to Futura, but pick a high end machine like the Fury extreme, xcell SE or Vigor CS. I haven't done it for a while but as I recall the price difference wasn't huge, the difference can be made up in quality of flight and longevity of parts.

My offer of trading still holds. If you interested, shoot me a PM or email and we can exchange ideas about an equitable trade.

Ok a quick check of parts and here what I have found so far:

Futura
Spindle/Axle 11.74
Main Shaft 24.62
Boom 21.96
Flybar 7.70
Total 66.02

Fury Extreme
Spindle/Axle 17.24
Main Shaft 18.15
Boom 42.95
Flybar 13.20
Total 91.54

Interesting, I would have thought they would be reversed. I'm going to look up the Vigor CS parts later; right now I'm out of time.
