Hi Guys

I've just had a leak begin from the clunk fitting. Can't get it to tighten up anymore. I have bought a new tank and fittings. Is there any reason why the clunk fitting is fitted halfway down the tank. I was thinking of fitting it near the top so if it does leak again i can have at least 3/4 of the tank full to fly with. If anyone has got any thoughts on this i'd really appreciate it before i ruin the new tank

Cheers

Mick

The clunk line is in the center of the tank, so it's in the center right side up and inverted. Less chance of the clunk line hanging up. Buy some Miniature Aircraft fittings, if you don't mind using the good stuff. Ron Lund stocks them.

I finally got mine to stop seeping fuel. It seemed to be somewhere between a seep and an ooze. It drove me nuts. I finally got it stopped by using double nuts on the inside with lots of nylon washers and tightening the darned thing reallllly tight. If fact I stripped the threads on one getting it tight, BUT, it doesn't leak any more. And I used the ones with a 90 degree bend on the outside; it helps with holding it tight with pliers whilst tightening the nut.

Weren't those fittings fun installing?

Frik, I couldn't believe that step. And one of my fitting nuts was defective (pre-striped). I figured a lot of these leak, so that means mine will . Then it says to use 1/8" fuel line,... fittings seem too big and ya gotta fight to get the fuel line on, causing more fatigue to the whimpy tank/fitting connection Century needs to form a custom tank with reinforced prethreaded fitting holes.

Some tight frikin ball links too. Did you guys have to size most of yours? My digital servos are screaming! I like the idea of running an hour or two (hovering) THEN sizing the tight ones, but I'm gonna have some serious battery draw.

'nuf of my bitchen, I got a bearing question to post.

Size those links

I size them ALL. Before I let my digitals have a turn with them.

Its nice knowing Im not the only one out there who thought the tank was kind of micky mouse. I drilled the holes in mine (second Predator) slightly undersize, which made it a bit easier to get the fittings tight. Also, I used red threadlock which acts as a sealant too.
As far as beefyness goes, Ive never seen ball links as heavy as the ones on the Predator. Yeah man, every single one had to be sized, and it was a major pain. I went a little too far with a couple, and had to order some more. Still though, that machine with a 26 really rocks! I love mine, and dont mind some of the small issues.
