Gary rrVeteran Crosby, Texas | Go as high end as you can on the electronics. You'll be a lot happier in the end.

MA Boy rrApprentice London | Like someone above said get the best electronics you can, however 3001's will work fine with no problems. MA enthusiast

Chem Geek rrVeteran AL | Why would you risk such a nice heli with cheap servos? Sure they'll work for basic hovering and all, but when you start to push it.... Get something with at least dual ball bearings. Hitec's standard digital is nice, 60 oz-in and dual ball bearings for $35. I'm going to try and complete an Evo 50 this summer, and personally I'm shooting for 9252 on collective/cyclic. I've been burned a couple of times now by buying cheap to begin with and having to buy again later. Not worth it to me.

Jyrki rrApprentice Loimaa, Finland | >...if they will be ok for basic flying with a couple of loops.GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! salt to my wounds!! I have been flying half a year or so... with quite a good progress. However, I have tried a loop only once (with a bit expensive result) Well.. the loop .... I practised it with a simu alot. The loop size was soo very large that I thought my REAL heli must be quite a bit more agile. I also didn't start it very high, because I trusted It would make quite a sharp loop and would not loose hight that much. One more loop with simu.. bang to ground, and I decided, definitely it will go better at real life... and off I go then... BANG to the ground. EXACTLY as simulated. You can imagine I felt stupid afterwards. I think I need to see someone doing a loop first and then I follow the sample. Difficult to scale the simulator to real life reference heights and speeds sometimes.

MJWS rrKey Veteran Airdrie, AB - Canada | If it can climb while inverted...(and it can) you can gain altitude while looping. Just have to move the sticks the right way. The jam it, pull back, and pray method is, however, far more exciting for the peanut gallery to watch ![]()

Jyrki rrApprentice Loimaa, Finland | yes, pull and pray! Sure yes it looses altitude and I really should compensate negative. I have just demonstrated it to myself.
I didn't trust my control to heli so much that I would compensate pitch at a loop.
I fly planks 3d and I have learned a fatal reflex to reduce throttle sometimes when in trouble like when disorientated with a heli.
I have also got used to fast forward flight with my heli and I feel it behaves a bit like a plank and I could fly a loop like with a plank.
I know I should just fly and teach myself the correct muscular memory which just takes time.
One little problem only: patience is not one of my virtues.

SkateFreak rrElite Veteran Cambs UK | Hey.
Maybe if you got a Throttle jocky or such implimented then you would look at the throttle as just collective....

Jyrki rrApprentice Loimaa, Finland | Indeed..when you think of round 360 degree loop, 50% of time is reversed (assuming full throttle watch and pray). The mathematical lift average during the loop is zero!-->watch, pray, swear! That was not a problem with a plank thought .![]()

MJWS rrKey Veteran Airdrie, AB - Canada | What's worse is feeding in negative collective on the plank I've caught myself more than once.
Up at the top of your loop is a good place to build the headspeed back up you don't need a bunch of negative... but get out of the collective so you can grab some rpm back after the climb.
