Well, its been a while and I am preparing to get my Rap 50 and Cal 30 ready to fly again. I currently use a Airtronics RD8000, with Airtronics 8-Channel Micro Dual Conversion Receivers on both of my heli's. I ordered and have received a Futaba 9CHPS with the Tx/R319DPS Rx package from Towers. Can the 9CHPS work the the Airtroncis receivers (Channnel 17)? I know I have to turn off the PCM and use PPM with the receivers. Thanks for any help you can give me and sorry if this question seems a little 'out there'. If I can't use the 9CHPS with the airtronics receivers, the I am thinking about returning it. I had a 9CHP before, and liked it quite a bit.

nope,.. airtronics recievers are positive shift, Futaba tx/rx are negitive shift only. However some airtronics tx can be programed for negative shift. rather then return the 9c, why not p/u a hitech super slim 8ch rx, and sell off the rd tx w/rx?

Thanks unklpunk! The reason I am thinking on returning it is because I have both of my Heli's and my Sig EP 42 (hitec receiver) setup really well (at least for me) on my RD8000. The airtronics receivers were not inexpensive (cheap compared to the Furtaba PCM receivers though), and I know if I sell them along with my RD8000 I will not get very much for them. The 9CHPS also has great setup capabilities for the Fut. GV-1 which are lacking on my RD8000. I am kind of at a cross roads right now. I might just keep both, and use the included PCM receiver with the 9CHPS for my Rappy. I have to admit, when I looked at the price of the Futaba PCM receivers, I was kind of 'sticker shocked'. Should be use to it by now in this hobby...submarines, boats, cars, trucks, planes and Heli's........

You guys are sure you can't use the futaba with the airtronics rx? Someone told me if you get futaba crystals it will work... Is there any official info on this? Seems a little damned ridiculous for a good quality radio to be unable to shift like the rd6000 can do.

to the best of my knowledge,. which is somewhere between some and none,..futaba tx are negative shift only,.. airtronics rx are positive shift only,.. crystals wont change the shift. airtronics tx can be set to positive or negative shift. hitec makes a reciever that you can switch between +/- shift.

Positive. This is an old story with Futaba. The FM shift is the culprit not the crystals.

sjgusmc21 I am using a RD6000 super, and love it. BUT, if I had a 9CH, I'd USE it. Get a couple of these Hitec receivers, and you're set!

Wow, good price on those. I will probably try to get a futaba 9channel rx. Still VERY dissapointing they can't add in the shift select on the radio. Another way to make money for them....sigh... and it worked....

Also, where could I download the 9CHP manual?
