Hi Guys

Im planning on getting the Futaba GY 240 to use in my MS Hornet CP and Shogun/Zoom 400 and i plan later to get a Raptor 50

But ive heard that you cant use the 240 in the raptor 50? is this true? and if so why not?

There's no reason you can't, but I would invest in a 401 if I were buying.

Al is right,
The 401 with the matching high speed servo is a much better choice...

The main difference between the 240 and 401 is that with the 401 you can adjust the gain and switch between Heading Hold and Standard Mode from the transmitter. With the 240, you cannot.

The 401 has "end point" adjustment capability making the setup easire whereas the 240 does not....

I understand that the actual sensor is the same between both...

I used a 240 in a raptor 50 with no problems.
But the 401 with 9254 is still a better choice.

The 401 has a much higer frame rate in DS mode than the 240, pair it with a 9254 or 9253 and the performance far surpasses that of a 240.

Well if you do some reading your not suppost to use a high speed digital servo with the 240 for the reason stated above.
But with a fast analog servo it will work in a 50 sized heli.

I was actually responding to Juans post which I probably should have quoted. The difference is far more than remote gain adjustment.
