How long must you wait?
I bought a canopy 3 months ago from Canopy FX that is beautiful.
It took three months to get to me But I thought it was worth the wait.
( Very nice work )
I also paid for a fin set to match and its been 5 months now but still no fin set.
I go to my local flying field every week just to watch everyone else fly
because I still dont have my fins.
I was told I am too demanding!
What do you think?

nothing wrong with being demanding but id be slapping on the stock units so i could fly until my custom ones arrived. you are robbing yourself of valuable stick time.

same here custom work takes time and good painters, artists
tend to be busy. I would not send the only set I had if it only took
a few weeks. Sorry for your wait it may be time to get a plane
Jane set for now then you will have a back up set

.

Buyer Beware

I agree that I should fly with the stock ones but I am starting to think this company is not going to send me my fins! They told me that they shipped 2 months ago and repeated stories!
So How long is to long?

i realize they might be busy but when youre talking months its getting a little too far out there for my taste. I would be hot. and they would definitley know it. havent dealt with them myself but come on now how long does it take to paint a damn set of fins? its not like were talking an entire full scale car or truck, which by the way i can do by myself in a week.

fins

If they told you two months ago that they shipped them, then they're lost in shipping. Order another set from him, ask if they were insured, and if not, could he discount due to the loss.

As was mentioned, almost all the good painters have several month backlogs. Never send the only set you've got, why not run cheap stock ones while waiting? It would be worth it, wouldn't it? Flying season's here

You've already heard this in this thread, but, since you're still upset, I'm suggesting it again.

As far as I've heard/read, the company is reputable.

i have had 2 canopys done by them , 1 with matching fins and 1 without and they both came within 3-4 weeks. he told me he paints the fins with the canopy so the color will match, my fins came with the canopy. i like his work and have had no trouble with them, i'm sure he will make it right.

Next time try Wade Mcgee, Just Canopies or Ariziona Heli. I would never do business with Canopy FX.

(Post corrected, sorry for the confusion)

Edited to reflect the change in Ken's post.

By the way, my experience with Just Canopies and Arizona Heli has been great.

My canopy and fins turned out great from Canopy FX (they're in my gallery).

Also, I e-mailed this thread to Joe at Canopy FX so at least he'll be aware of it.

I just saw some of his canopies at Birmingham and at huntsville fly-ins,
By far the most impressive paint schemes I have ever seen
