I want to buy a third bird and am torn between the 60v2 or the 90std.

I'm fairly new to the sport but wanted to have two working helicopters on hand for the inevitable crash and waiting for parts.

What would you guys recommend between the two? I'm going to go with the TT engine in either case.

PERSONALLY
I'd go with the 90. BUT it depends on lots of things...for instance, how much flying time do you have?

The 90 std has alot of upgrades that you would have tobuy for the 60 to make it a 90. ad it isn't to much more in cost. It has a bigger diameter boom, bigger clutch,2 torque tube bearings, nice grey anodized frames and boom and skids, plus longer boom so you can run many choices of blade lengths.
I beleive thta shold be enough to convince ya.

Thanks - I ordered the 90std and TT90H engine. I actually had a 90SE kit that I sold to a buddy for $300.00 more than I paid for it because he couldn't wait a week. Hilarious!

Thanks. Do any of you know if the 90 "standard" kit comes with a muffler?

I wanted a MP2 anyway. I looked at the website, I didn't see a "Q" version of the MP2 for the 90.

Thats because there is no "Q" MP2 in the 90 size. Oh, and someone said earlier that the diameter of the booms was different between the 60 and the 90, and I want to point out that this is not true. I have both booms on hand, and the diameter is the same on both. Only the length is different.

BB, I heard the same thing and ended up with the same result, just longer.. What is different between the 60 and 90 is the servo tray and fan shroud tho.. So far thats all I can find. I know this, since Zooms sent me the wrong part in an order after I damn near totalled my R70. I do however like the new gun metal grey booms much better than the black ones.. Not any easier to see or anything just a cool factor.

I run the MP2 on my YS 91 and am soon getting another for it.. Also if you want to run the MP2 you really should get the 91T gear so you can get "into the pipe" and you can run 1850 for HS.. A buddy of mine talked to YS and they said it was fine to run the 15,266 RPM required to get the 1850 HS He did however suggest to change out the bearings to ceramic as soon as possible

So what's the recommended muffler for a TT PRO-90H and the Raptor 90 "standard"?

I think I would stick with the TT pipe for the TT motor.. I run the TT PV0205 on my OS 70 and it works like a charm. I dont think you will gain very much HP running a high dollar pipe on a TT motor. They have enough power but are not known as Firebreathing HP engines. Besides TT made those mufflers for their engines. I think the stock muffler for the TT90 would do just fine. I am sorry but I don't know the part number for it, but it might be the same as the 70 version listed above.

I'm so new to this hobby I have no basis for comparisson except my raptor 30 with tt39 so I'm sure it will still be quite the upgrade. I'll swap it out later if it survives my training.

If I were in your shoes I wouldn't even bother spending the money on one engine just to think it might need replacement in the end due to not so good results. I would buy a YS 91 and be done with it. Sweet engine, and super consistant. You will love it. I know, YS is all I run in the big block department. But that is me.
