I'm new to e-heli's and want to know what's the most bang for my buck for a speed control and brushless motor for an e-heli project. I've read about motor savers, fail safe, etc. I've been flying nitro helis for a few years now.

I'm either going to purchase a ARC X 400 or T-Rex.

What motor and speed control do I want?
Keep in mind I want a nice running heli, it don't have to be a rocketship, at least not yet.

If you look in the forum for the trex there is tons of info. The best bang for the buck i think would be the 400dh from just go fly for $50. If you are planning on heavy 3d then most likely a mega high voltage set up.
