I think its probably easier to just make the "CCPM Rifitting Components" rather then to tool up a new frame for CCPM.

TRex CCPM
I think the "refitting" kit is a good idea. It appears to allow those who have stock TRex Helis the opportunity to change over to CCPM easily. The setup appears to be very similiar to that being used by several other Helis on the market. I do not subscribe to the theory of chopping out all of the weight and reducing the integrity of the structure. A bit of weight in addition to the slightly larger size makes the TRex better in the wind. Install a decent motor and battery and go fly Seeing a stock TRex fly nicely in gusty 10 to 15mph winds makes one realize that light weight is not the only way to go.

I'm surprised Align didn't go to eccpm right off the bat with this latest heli. Looks like it will give the x400 a run for its money.

BTW, when is Align coming out with a bigger (30 size) heli?

I want the flybar system. I think the reason why align didn't go eccpm setup is because not everybody have a tx that is capable of a 120 swash. Even though most people have a TX thats is capable, i think align is trying to keep everything simple.

Ok the CCPM allows existing users to upgrade by the looks of it (which is great), but no one knows how well it will fly yet. Will it fly as well as the CCPM's most of us have done?

Im guessing the push pull wont be tooooo bad, but the rear CCPM servo (the elevator servo i believe it is) could prove to be the sluggish point (after some discussion with a friend).

Can align please please please tell us if they have plans to release a CCPM frame or are even thinking about it. It seems that this is what everyone wants/expecting???

Align are great as they are always releasing mods and upgrades and really do care about their customers but im not sure if the T-rex 450 XL CDE is the CCPM everyone was expecting.

If it doesn't compare to our own CCPM mods I may start to fear for align in favour of err... other simular helis if they get it right.

This would be a shame after all align have done for us!!! If it does fly great then just scrub everything I have just said

Wow, what a beauty! And both CCPM and non-CCPM heli comes with an aluminium case!! Hope that won't jack up the price too much

I think the case is listed as EXTRA, I mean don't force a $90 item on to the price.

As for a ccpm frame, that stinks. I guess I will break down and get a heliworks or something like it.

That case holding the heli kit doesn't look like it will hold the whole heli in one piece after its built. Looks like it isn't long enough. Just look at the canopy size versus the length of the box.

e-heli,

I was thinking the same thing. That case looks to small. The canopy takes up half the space! Looks like a nice Tx and parts case?

waste of a case if the full length bird doesn't fit when built.

sweeeettt looking bird and i highly doubt align will be going by the way side even if a manufacturer (ark) comes out with genuine eccpm frame like the mods we're doin'........

align is on fire... they are the hottest micro manufacturer on the market right now IMHO....

i for one will certainly be going yellow once those parts hit, that is sweet looking... that canopy better come in yellow from the start, i'll dye fins and tail blades and landing gear yellow with RIT, and it will look sweet as heck with the CF mains, rotorworkz CF frame, and CF boom..... can't hardly wait!

WELL....
$165 or so for a stock 450x right now... do the math... maybe $200-$220 w/out electronics, esc's, motors, etc....

that's just my guess
