I have been searching for hours on this one little post where a person posted an electric heli setup with a link to a shop that sells lipoly batteries.

The batteries where very cheap (under$20), and had decent specs (2 or 3 cell, low mah rating ~600mah-800mah, 70-80g weight). The batteries were stated on their site to have come from China. I believe the post was on a topic regarding a cheap electric setup for a beginner or something similar. The person who made the post had a little funny line with his post saying "Don't tell anyone about these cheap batteries!" or similar. I believe it was posted in the "Beginners Corner", "Electrics - General discussion", "Electrics - Century", or "Electrics Align T-Rex".

I have been driving myself crazy trying to find this post for the last few hours :/

Does anybody remember it? I have a very poor memory and it seems to be the blame for everything

Thanks everyone for the replies.. I swear to myself I saw a post with a link to a shop with even cheaper batteries..

The other shops (ex. cheapbatterypacks.com) are also very cheap no doubt, and I would glady take pardon to just make my purchases there..

But, I have just spent an extra two hours today searching for this post... I cannot get it out of my head how I saw it before in solid memory, and cannot re-find it!! I am seriously to the point of banging my head on the keyboard due to frustration :/ I would even consider paying the person who could solve this puzzle..

Does no one remember a such a post as described? A direct link to the main post would solve all problems. Who knows, the link provided by the poster may as well be one of the links that were already posted (ex. cheaperbatterypacks.com).

I wish my memory were better..

Cheap batteries might not seem quite so when the bird goes in.

In general, you get what you pay for

I not exactly longer looking for shops with the batteries.. although thanks anyway!!

I just wish to find that one topic/post; I have been flooding the runryder search system with no avail

Mike, thanks for the effort. I really just want to find that one topic; the idea that I cannot solve something or find something is one of my pet peeves

Regarding to PietervA, the saying "you get what you pay for" is truely an honest saying. But, a battery is a battery, and I was planning to use the battery for a stand-alone project at home.

http://www.rclipos.com markets the polyquest range. You can buy them from http://www.purehobby.com, as an alternative. I've not yet tried them (packs are on their way), but their prices looked alright to me.

I guess standalone projects aren't about to fall out of the sky.

Thanks for all the links, although this is not exactly what I am looking for..

I could care less if somebody posted a link directed to a shop selling lipoly batteries for $5 and free shipping. I am just looking for that exact thread with the post. I have been looking for days, quite frustrated I cannot find it.

It is not that I believe the link that the person posted in that thread posted a link to a shop with cheaper batteries, It is just the fact that I cannot find the thread I once saw in bold memory that bugs me.

This is the last bit of information about the thread that I could recollect in addition to the first post in this thread.

The thread I am looking for was subjected about a beginning looking for a cheap electric setup. The thread had over 5 replies I believe, each person had a reply with either a cheap heli package or a separate "to buy" package. The person who posted in the thread had a "To buy" package recommendation. He recommended separate parts for the beginner to purchase (ie. buy this receiver, with these servos.. etc.).

That is all I can remember. I would be willing to pay the finder for his effort in finding the darn thread. It is like finding a needle in a haystack, no doubt!
