This Hosting sessions on G2 & G3 problem keeps cropping up for people with routers.

I've not been able to host since it had G2 several years ago, I just got G3 & decided it as time to sort this out!

I searched the internet, this forum & the Knife Edge Software forum & found lot of people posted this problem & lots of advice, but nobody posted the advice had solved the problem. I came accross one post that someone had solve the problem by updating their router firmware. I have a SMC router, tried this & now problem sovled. I don't have to open ports or any of these things that didn't work.

Updating your router firmware is another story, I was left with no internet when the update program crashed halfway through!

Tim.

Thanks Toolman, the firmware update fix, is to enable upnp, I dont really want to go that route if I can help it, its a bit odd that it wont work with the correct ports forwarded
just to make sure, here are the ports I have forwarded...2300-2400 and 6073
are there any more I should open?

The ports you have listed are correct per the knowledge base article here

I had NO luck with this myself. I would be interested to hear from anyone who got this to work, particularly with a SMC router?

It really seems that if you dont enable upnp on your router then it doesnt work, knife edge or great planes dont tell you this, but from all I have read, only people with upnp enabled have got it working, I tried to get a answer from knife edge forum but instead of answering my question they just told me my setup must be wrong. ..nice
