Hi all

I can understand why the scale flying is so much more pleasurable and relaxing rather than FAi or hard 3D,

I had my first test flight today with the Machine.

One i thing i noticed was the large amount of vibration as the blades came up to speed, and as they reached 0o it stopped then as i increased power it shhok again in the hover, i landed and as the blades slowed down the machine really shook, side to side as it if it was jelly or a pair of boobs,

It also seemed as the blades came up to speed the whole mast shook,
but once i turned off the power and got it back on the bench i moved the head side to side and there was no movement,

would changing the fuel from 10% to 20% and not having the engine set up make this much difference so as to make it look like jelly ?

Any ideas before i start stripping out the mechanics would be appreciated,

ps - it is not the blades out of track cos i checked them and i got someone else to as well,

NB - this is also the first flight it has in over a year, it was fine a year ago and all it has done is sat on my shelf in the bedroom (sad i know)

Are the main blades very tight in the blade grips (too tight and they wont align themselves properly causing vibes)

when left on the shelf for a year were the blades left on the machine, folded back ? (could have made the dampers go out of shape)

engine tuning can cause vibes !

I presume the machine has not been knocked or damaged since it last flew fine ??

Hi Dokey

Thanks for quick reply, it has been left with the blades folded for over a year, only 2 times i have unfolded the blades to dust the model,

The machine has not been knocked although i remeber extremely lightly knocking the tail, when i turned round witht he model in a room,

Just for info - the mechaincs are Xcell ST 60 with an OS60 engine.

Matt

Where would i get dampers for it ? motors and rotors ?

Yup, M+R would be your best bet.

(not saying that this is the cause, its just a thought)
