Remember in the season where they were captured and Jack performed surgery on Ben? Kate and Sawyer were made to work on the runway that Lupidus landed the plane on. Really coming together now!
This makes perfect sence now! I was wondering why there was a runway on the island all of the sudden.
We see Sayid shooting at someone saying "this is why I have come back" My money says he tries to kill young Benjamin Linus.
Sayid can't kill "young Ben". If he does that would mean that he did (if you follow me), and that "the others" would have never taken over the Dahrma compound. Remember Faraday said "What ever happened, happened", meaning you can't change the past with Desmond being the exception.

What I want to know is , why was Sun left in the present, and what "journey is ahead of her", according to Christan?

And where was Locke last night? I figured he would have been chasing after Ben just as Sun did.

Side note:

I had to goto my grandfathers funeral this past weekend to Puerto Rico (a tropical island). While boarding the plane, a guy got on the plane with a 'Dharma' T-shirt on. How freaky is that?!!

I dunno, I have a theory on Sun, Ben and Locke....though it may be flawed...

Seems that they were the only ones that didn't get jumped into 1977.

All of the folks didn't (with the exception of sun?) have a younger version of themselves on the island. Ben had his younger self, Locke was allegedly still in the dirt by the wagon wheel power wheel...but that does not explain Sun....

Does it have something to do with her husband or did she ever come to the island when she was a girl?

Like I said I my be flawed here....

I'm not certain they were meant to come back to the island yet. Maybe Ben, Locke and Sun have to do something in order for everyone stuck in 1977 to go back to 2007. Who knows? I'm getting burned out on the "filler" episodes. They have just a few more episodes and then another season to explain hundreds of unanswered questions from the past 4 seasons.

Who were the people that built the Statue? Why does Richard never age? What role does he play in the grand scheme of things? Why does the island let certain people die and let others live? What is the island? Where does it get its healing properties? Is the island a conscious being?

I don't see last nights episode as a "filler"
I thought it was a great show, and IMO was one of my favorites of this Season so far. It answered a few questions for me, and opens the door for the show to expand to yet another level.

I was becoming burned out on Lost about midway through the last season.
I wondered, "How the hell can they draw this show out any further?"
I thought, "this show is about to go down the tubes pretty quick. Maybe they'll end it after this season"

Well not so anymore. The show got good again. The writers are doing a good job at keeping it alive, tying in what seemed like random BS that made no sense in episodes of earlier seasons. Revealing old mysteries while creating new ones.

Absolutely... hence my wording of "tries to kill". Certainly "whatever happend happened" and therefore his attempt will be unsuccessful.

Dood I totally agree that the writing this season is exceptional. They truly pulled it out of the fire. I thought I was gonna die having to wait 2 weeks for that episode!

Cant wait till next week. I wonder if Faraday spins the wheel or Sun and Lupidus or maybe something wierd like Faraday spinning the wheel in 1977 as Sun spins the wheel in the present. Nevertheless, something has to happen to get them all back together - somebody is gonna spin the wheel!!

But I thnk next weeks episode is going to focus on Sayid and young been and the friction of Sayid in jail along with Jack not being in control.

And I really want to get the lowdown on that statue we saw a glimplse of last week!

Last night was more of a filler episode to me. Don't get me wrong, it was awesome nevertheless. I'm a big fan of Sawyer, but I think he totally handled that situation with Jack the wrong way. Not a good start to the new/old relationship between the two.
I'm wondering if Ben knows and knew all along what was going to happen seeing as he's already met everyone when he was a child?
Some good stuff for sure last night.

I have a strange feeling some central characters are going to die and some old characters are going to pop up again. We'll see I guess.

He knows enough to have a runway built on the other island. Way cool.

Ben

I know for sure someone filled Ben in on the whole big picture while he was a kid. This is why he knows so much. We just have to wait and see who is it. He was smart enough(or dumm enough) to believe the whole back to the future story.

I still dont get christians story quite straight, but im a patient man.

Yep pretty good. Not quite the action I'd like to have seen. Pretty much knew it was all about Sayid killing Ben. Of course, Ben will survive it just like John Locke ironically survived Ben shooting him. One who is destined to become the leader of the others seems to be immortal - whether it be Ben or Locke.

I thought alot of the Sayid stuff we saw was alot of filler but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Question is: Was that gal who had Sayid in handcuffs actually working for Ben?

I think that she does not know Ben and has never met him - they are on the other island together right now and she has not acknowledged Ben. However, I do think that Ben had something to do with her finding Sayid and getting him on the right flight even if it was done indirectly (i.e. Ben informing the family of that guy as to Sayid's whereabouts). The fact that Ben was surprised to see Sayid on the plane does not support this theory but we will have to wait and see.

Edit: I think that Sayid being totally upset that there were no more people to kill in Widmore's group was totally proof that Sayid does indeed totally enjoy the chase and the kill. Why else would you be so upset that your job was done? And well done at that!

Cant change the past!!!

Oh boy!!!

Now we know why ben is all raged up, he hates camp, his father, and now Sayid shooting him. For sure i would be pissed off pretty bad.

Another filler episode but, the snowball is starting to roll downhill for Sawyer. Lets see how big the snowball gets.

At the end probablly Jack is going to end up as leader again but lets wait.

Intresting that the very last thing that Sayid said to Ben was "You were right about me" meaning that future Ben knows Sayid takes some pleasure in the kill.

I think that Sayid being upset over shooting young Ben was more for the fact that he finally realized his own dark issues and the real reason he was helping Ben was to fulfill them. After all, if he really wanted to help his friends wouldn't he have willingly wanted to go back to the island? He was all to eager to jump back in when Ben told him about the people outside Hurley's hospital and of course we know he promptly kills them.

Anyone know where I can view Ep.7 "the life and death of Jeremy Bentham" ???

I went to ABC.com to watch this and it will not show Ep.7.

I missed it when the kiddies accidentally deleted it from my DVR. As I understand it, this is the key Ep. where Locke dies.

I think that a lot happened.

We learned why Ben is the way that he is, and that he will do anything to protect the island. Even if it means following Locke's every order.

We learned why Whidmore left the island and what started the fued between him and Ben. This is the one that I was waiting for.

My wife and I were both glad to find out that Ben really didn't kill Penny or Desmond. That seams to be the only happy story line in the show right now, and if those two died I think a lot of people would have stopped watching.

Next week looks like its going to be a killer episode. I can't wait.

I agree FL. It was a pretty great episode. Loads of great answers. I was too relieved that Penny and Desmond were spared. All of Ben's guilt totally came to a head.

We now know that the origins of the island culture is Egyptian for sure. Beneath the temple was pretty awesome. The smoke monster showing was great. It appeared just as it did to Echo - both as smoke and a manifestation of a loved one.

It looks as if the smoke monster "sleeps" as a puddle in some special lair.

Widmore's whole speech about Ben one day being in his position was spot-on if you remember Ben's cries as he had to turn the wheel and was banished.

John Locke was pretty awesome in this episode.

Dig this... did you catch the question Elana was asking Lupidus?
"What lies in the shadow of the statue?"

It was like it was some kid of password the "others" would use. I'm thinking that some of the people on the flight are "others"!?!?!

What do you think?

Edit: All those hieroglyphs are gonna take me months to decode!!!

Did you see the picture of Annubis kneeling before the smoke monster? Way friggin cool!!

I have to dissagree on this one. I have a feeling Elana is working for Whidmore as well as others on that plane. But they don't know who is working for Whidmore and who isn't without that question.
