I'm trying to figure out something about the canopy clip on R50v2's. It seems there is a long and a short version. My original v2 came with the short clip and the one I just got also did. Somewhere I acquired a longer style clip... and a flying buddy has a brand new v2 50 that came with the longer version. Reason I am wondering is I need the longer version of the clip because I like to drill a hole in them to snap over a screw in the strut. I don't like those things popping off in flight.

I need to order some and want to make sure I ask for the right part.

Any ideas?

Oh and here is a pic of my little incident today after the tt50 carb decided to work loose... well, of the broken parts at least!

I believe the older clip was from the V1 days, and all of the newer ones are the same. I.E. the longer one. So I don't think you will have an issue when you order one.

Build it, fly it, crash it. Repeat as often as needed.

It's getting to be a major one.. with the discovery of the main frame having a crack, closely followed by the electronics review... 401 shot! Have to steal the 401 from my TRex now, might have to sell them now since neither will have a gyro.

Just went over $400 and still haven't checked out the engine to see how it faired. I always check over the heli between flights for linkage problems etc but never check the carb. Spoiled by YS91 carbs I guess.

You did it good Steve.
Proud of you.

Really, sorry to see all the busted stuff.
You have the worst of it over.
Now the fun of bolting all the shiney new stuff together.
Sometimes I just throw one in the corner with a sheet over it for a year or two.

Damn, and I thought I was having bad crashes!

Seeing the green circuit boards makes me *cringe*. Luckily, all my electronics have survived three hard crashes (with the exception of a few servo gears).

Good luck on the rebuild. My last crash "forced" me to upgrade from a 30 to a 50. I couldn't be happier now!

Hi Steve,
Looks like you might be better off getting a kit and keep what little good parts you have left there. Sorry for the loss.

I agree with JKL. I think you need to start with a new kit and use what's left of this crash for spare parts.
