If you had a choice between the Futaba 7CHP PCM and the 9CHF FM which would you choose? Is PCM that important and if not now how about the future?

it's not a fair question because the only REAL difference is the
receiver that each transmitter comes with.

The 7 OR 9 can transmit either FM or PCM so 'in the future', if you
have already purchased a 9CHF and want PCM, all you need to
do is buy a PCM receiver

I would choose the 9C because it has a few more nice features, plus it is a radio that will serve you for a long time in that you won't grow out of it. Keep in mind that both transmitters are capable of FM or PCM modes. To use PCM you need a PCM receiver, which is something that you can purchase down the road. I use PCM in my heli's, but FM should serve you well. If you are going to install in a gas heli I would go PCM 9CHP if it is possible. THe biggest downfall of the 7C besides the limited channels is that there isn't a governor menu where the 9C has one. Hope this helps. Chuck

first off, helihobby has a reputation for substandard customer service.

all the listing is telling you is that you can get teh 7 or 9 w/ either an FM or PCM
receiver. the transmitters are the same.
