marked23 rrKey Veteran Lynnwood, WA | Ahh... It's because of the international order thing. People in the US (and probably UK, if ordering from Century UK) don't have to do this.Yeah, it is a little creepy. I wouldn't do it... even though I'm currently a happy Century customer. Idea: Have your LHS order the stuff for you. It won't take any longer, and it might not cost more because your LHS gets dealer pricing. Then if you have an issue, you can talk to your LHS. -Mark

Syclic rrApprentice Northern Hemisphere Ont. | And I bet you were ordering from Heli-World. Their is a difference.Heli-World is a retailer that sells a number of different brands and Century Helicopter Products is a manufacturer that only sells Century helicopters and periferals that they manufacture or import to dealers. IMHO, I would be glad they are so thorough - any fraud artist would have trouble buying anything if every seller required such info.

Tuber rrNovice Gabriola Island, Canada | If you order International it doesn't matter which hobby shop they all require a copy of your credit card information. I had to do this for Century, Heliproz and this for Rick's.Rick’s requires a digital photo of your credit card (front and back) and a picture id in order to process your order. If digital is not an option, then a clean clear fax. Please e-mail your digital copies to customer_service@ronlund.com. Or fax to 1-361-855-4124. ThanksRena Ricks That's just the way it is.

JKos rrProfessor Redondo Beach, CA | I guess I can't quite understand such a response to an effort to protect YOU as much as Heli-World.> 1. a clear photo copy of your credit card (front & back) You are not giving them anything they didn't already have. > 2. your current credit card monthly statement stating your billing> address and you are the credit card holder. What is the big deal with this one? Make a copy, black out the purchases and your balance then fax it. At that point, again, you are not giving them any information they didn't already have; merely confirming it. You will find similar requests from a growing percentage of US on-line retailers due to rampant international credit card fraud. If a fraud attempt succeeds, the company loses big time as well as the real individual, if any, to which the information belongs. These companies either make a decision to ask for confirmation of your information or to simply not sell to foreign customers. As someone who has had their information used for fraudulent international purchases, let me tell you, it is NOT a fun process to get everything fixed. - John RR rules!
