Sea King ( LOL)
But the muffler works great! Sand blast the sucker and paint it flat black or have it powder coated "your" color of choice.

I've only got a couple of runs on mine and the chrome bubbled in a couple of spots. I don't care though, it's price is good and it works well. If at some point the chrome thing bugs me I'll just do what Al said

OK, I feel better now (lol). I just called Century and they said it was "Operational" and it will do that. The instructions say discoloration only and nothing about a bad chrome job. I agree it is a great muffler but it is has a manufacturing flaw which should be warranted.

I don't know why they even bothered to chrome it because it looks good without the chrome plating. I will probably sand blast mine then paint it flat black.

When I recieved mine the little slip of paper said that the chrome would blister and peel. They must have changed it at some point when they realized the problem.

I heard the mfgr was pretty anal about the chrome deal, I'd just as soon have it bead blasted aluminum to match the engine casting. Oh well, as soon as he takes his head out I'll order an unchromed one. Till then the factory job will do.

Loose Muffler
I am just about through my first gallon of fuel and I noticed the header was loosening up. I put RED loctite on the header bolts. Has anyone else had this problem because it is a pain to remove the four muffler bolts to retighten the header.

yep
here is the trick:

get the engine up to temp with the header only on it. IMMEDIATELY after turning it off, tighten the two bolts holding the header to the engine.

After it cools...........Install the torpedo.

Fly.
