So I've heard a lot of people are adding another main bearing to their set-up for smoother running. Where is the extra bearing put? I can't seem to find the size, part #,or supplier for it, what's the deal? It's not in the manual. Any help?

I think the only extra bearing people add is in the tail boom (move the one central bearing and replace with 2 spaced at the 1/3 and 2/3 points.) For that you need a bearing with 3mm i/d and 8mm o/d.

I can't see how you'd add an extra bearing to the main shaft!

where would you mount an extra main shaft bearing?

PS main bearings are 5mm ID, 10mm OD & 4mm deep.

As others have said here, there have only been 2 places where people have added any extra bearings. One is in the tail boom to help support the tail drive shaft in order to keep it from resonating by reducing the space between the bearing in the boom.

The other is in the top of the main pulley for those who have converted to belt drives for the tail. When you add the belt pulley to the main shaft, only about half of the pulley fits on the auto bearing sleeve. The bearing is added in order to keep the pulley equally supported along it's height. It actually doesn't need to be a bearing, since the pulley and shaft rotate at the same time. People have just used a bearing since it's a perfect premade fit, but a alum collar of the same deminsions would serve the same purpose.

Here is a pic of the bearing in the top of my belt pulley, the bearing is right under the shaft collar that holds everything down.

Here is a link to the bearing for the size info you ask of:
