I wrote them an email asking, but didn't hear anything back...

Decided I couldn't wait any longer, so I picked up some fluorescent monokote trim and designed my own graphics.

Pretty much just cut a rough shape, applied to the canopy, then did the fine cutting in a couple stages (pressing just hard enough with a blade to cut through). The stuff doesn't shrink to well, so wherever a "wrinkle" formed I slit the coating and overlapped.

Didn't come out too bad, and only cost about $10 for 3 sheets!

Very nice!
I also was waiting for Rotorgraphics to re-open, but now their websites says closed indefinately, please shop elsewhere!

I'm not that fond of Callie Graphics, and don't wanna spring for a painted canopy for a Raptor.

Any chance you could post the pattern you used so others can download it?

Thanks for the compliments!
Unfortunately, I didn't use a pattern...

On a lighter note, the stuff is tough, so *when* I destroy this canopy I'll scan the pattern. Please, don't hope me to crash though!

The stuff is cheap enough to experiment with. You can wrap the canopy with saranwrap to get a "rough" outline, cut it out, stick it on, and lightly trim with a sharp exacto. The couple top trim pieces were just cut and applied.

The compound angled areas will obviously lift, so you need to slice them and allow overlap. If you can get neon vinyl, I think it's a little thinner and has at least limited stretching ability, unlike the trimcoat.

RotorGraphics is NOT dead.
Guys...

RotorGraphics --will-- reopen, but I just can't tell you exactly when it will be.

The remodel on my house in Fullerton ran into several snags but is almost done. I was planning to reopen RotorGraphics at the end of this month after the move to Issaquah but something, err...I should say someone, got in the way of that plan.

About two months ago, I met and fell in love with a wonderful (read heli-friendly) woman who, just last Wednesday, I proposed to.

Amazingly, she said yes.

If you're curious as to what kind of a woman thinks Alan is a reasonable substitute for a husband, there is a picture on the RotorGraphics website of the happy couple.

While this is great news for me, it does mean that my move North is complicated and delayed. However, I am currently working on a plan to re-open RotorGraphics for a few weeks to take care of my customers, but I will have to shut it down again during the move north.

Once again, I apologise to all my valued customers for suspending operations as long as I have.
