Hi, I'm running a 6 volt regulated flight system and just put in a 9254 on my GY502 Gyro. I didn't know it at the time but that servo cannot be used on 6v. I really want to stay with the high voltage if possible, any suggestions on what to do here?

Thanks

Running 4.8 volt only "stuff" on a 6v. regulator is not as bad as running the same stuff on a fully charged 5 cell nicad. Most 6v reg's have an actual output around 5.9v.. A fully chared 4 cell nicad is about 5.8v.. You are only .1 (one tenth) volt over that. A fully charged 5 cell is about 7.25v. or about 1.45v over. Like TMoore said, If you don't tell any of the rocket scientists everything will probably be OK. If you took the manufacture's 4.8v recommendation to heart, You'd have to fly with half dead batteries all the time. If it still bugs you being a little over voltage then PM me your email address & I'll tell you a simple solution. Just don't tell the rocket scientists, I'm gonna get flamed enough for this reply anyway.

Yeah it will be fine, Im running a 9254 on a 560 on 6v regulated.

The reason why it says only use 4.8v for it is because Futaba have to assume people will not be using a regulator with it.

The reason is as crowfly says, when you use a 4.8v pack it will kick out about 6v when fresh off the charger, the servo is fine with that, but if you use a 5 cell (6v) pack with it, that will be kicking out about 7.2v fresh off the charger, which will kill the servo, however, if you use a regulator to bring that down to 6v, as far as the servo knows its running on a fresh 4.8 pack (6v) all the flight, so no problem
