Hi all, I know this has been talked about before. I am looking for a list of the brushless motors for the T-Rex. Also some input on which one everyone likes? I am looking to do some mild 3D, but don't want it to be under powered. Thanks, Charlie

Like you, we wanted to avoid disappointments in the power department.
Mega 16/15/3, TP 3s2100 and CC P35 were widely reported to work well together and deliver good power. This combination has certailny lived up to that promise. We are not doing 3D, but we are only using a small amount of what it is capable of.

Hi-Max 2815 / 3000. This motor with TP 2100's will get you about 20 feet per second, horizontal. And i am not joking. This is one bad motor for the t-rex. Use 13 tooth pinion. It is 80.00 but well worth it. Also, dont let any one talk you into anything except a CC 35. A smaller speed control is not suited for more than 3 servos. The 25 will work, but i have heard of much trouble and quite a few crashes due to the 25 not having the capacity to run all the servos. Go with the 35, TP 2100's and the 2815/3000, and you will have more power than you can use.

The AON 3500KV motor is also reported to be good- I'm saving up for one of those. Ashley has done a good job testing a variety of motors- Go check it out at trex - tuning - .com

Himax 2815 3000
I agree with Oragami about the Himax 2815 3000. There was a small thread about it some time ago here in the Forums. I have found no one officially testing this motor but it has been around for some time in planes. Mine runs cool and develops plenty of power on a TP2100 and a CC35.

well...
if you want to spend too much money and wait too long to get your motor... Lehner is always a nice option.
