Charlie rrVeteran New Brunswick, Canada | How are people saving a picture of what they have on their computer screen. I've seen pictures in posts of peoples computer screens and I'm wondering how they do it, is there some kind of program that will save a picture of what ever you have on your screen or can you do it with Windows? Thanks Guy's.

Charlie rrVeteran New Brunswick, Canada | Sorry guy's, I'm sure I put this in "off topics", but for some reason it went to main discussion (or maybe I just think I did). Maybe Mark can move it over there for me? Thanks

craneyum rrKey Veteran warwickshire uk | Double click on My Documents, make a new folder call it My Pictures or something like that, then when you save a picture to your PC send it to that folder. Pictures in posts are taken from peoples gallerys which you can upload for free on a Monday or any time if you pay the oneoff toll fee of $20.

pdman rrNovice West Chester, PA | You can use the printscreen key (normally above the insert key and next to the scroll lock key) on your keyboard... it will copy the screen into memory. You can then paste it into a simple photo editing software like mspaint(Microsoft Paint) that comes with Windows. Now you can save it to disk as a (JPEG, gif, etc.) and then upload it.

jurgen rrApprentice Weybridge, Surrey, UK | I think what you are looking for is 'Print Scrn'. In Windows if you hit the print screen button it saves a copy of your screen to the clipboard. All you have to do then is go into Paint (or whatever gfx editor you like) and select Edit -> Paste (if it asks to resize canvas, say yes) and 'Hey presto' you'll have a screenshot of your desktop that you can crop/edit/save as you like!Jurgen.

Charlie rrVeteran New Brunswick, Canada | Thanks for the help guy's, but when I hit the "print scrn" key, it doesn't do anything. Am I doing something wrong? If it did work, were would it send the picture to, or does it ask you were you want to send it? Thanks again.

jurgen rrApprentice Weybridge, Surrey, UK | Charlie,You won't 'see' anything when you press Print Screen but the image will be in memory, you have to then use paint to paste that image into a canvas. Jurgen

![]() rrApprentice Lancs UK | once you have hit Print Scrn then you need to load your editing / paint program and just paste it in (Edit Paste menu) then save it ...

![]() rrProfessor The Villages, Florida | I would try a different approach.....Place your mouse over the pic you want to save...... right click and you should see an option for "save picture as...." Click on that.... Another window opens where you will have an opportunity to name the picture whatever you want AND you can then select WHERE you want the picture to be saved..... Let me know if that works for you...... I don't like the "print screen" option because that saves the contents of the entire screen...... You just want the picture itself.....
