Hi
can anyone help,

i have tried to set up the helie but am struggling,

i am using the Futaba FF9, and i am using on the zoom the protech speed controller and protech 6 channel reciever.

Ihave connected the aeleron to chan 1
elevator to chan 2
throttle (3 colour wire comes from speed controller) into chan 3
channel 4 is the lead from the gyro

chan 5 is empty
chan 6 in thepitch servo,

all the servos operate ok with the stick on tx
but the motor doesnt go, i have followed the intructions - turn on tx, switchon esc, then move throttle stick slowly after 2 - 4 secs, and then bring it down, i go to move the throttle again and nothing all th emoves is the pitch servo,

then one time i did something and it went ballistic, so i must be doing sommin wrong,

please help

many thanks

matt

Check your ATV, it must be set at 0-100% and maybe reverse the throttle channel, some ESC need to be put on "brake 0%" to arm. Only then they will start.

hi
the only other thing i can think of is your throttle trim and subtrim , the trim lever next to the stick should be all the way down and be sure your subtrim is set to zero

As Huge1 said, you need the throttle atv to be 0 -100 for the controller to arm.

Hi all again

I have done all that you recommended and still no go in the motor, i noticed though the speed controller was getting really hot,

i have got it right, the cable from the speed controller (orange, red, brown) goes into channel 3 of the reciever ?

and the ATV is the end point setting on the tx ?

hi again

i have finally got it working, all i need to do now is set up thepitch curves, many thanks guys for all your help, it was a combination of things,

for my radio the atv had to be set at 100/100, and i unplugged the motor and plugged it in again, and then it sprang into life.

sorry to swear on the electric forum - but it is a damn site easier with IC, you stick your glow start on and start, sorry couldn't resist the temptation of the dark side of the force
