I have a TP2100 3S that came as part of a package with my T-Rex. It is a very long battery and it sticks out a long way if I try to strap it to the platform forward of the motor. I am concerned that it is a lot of load for the short platform to take and I don't want to have the battery come loose in flight. I am running a stock mCCPM and don't plan on going eCCPM for a while. How have other people mounted this battery?

Make a small spacer to keep the battery from touching the motor and glue it between the sides and bottom of the frame. I use a piece of GF I had lying around. Shove the battery back between the frame sides until it touches the spacer. Wrap two stout rubber bands around the battery and slide them back until they engage in the indentations on the battery holder. The battery will lift in the front slightly when you fit the canopy unless you modify the bottom of the canopy. I left mine stock.

1. Make or buy a t-rex battery tray extension.
2. I put velcro on the battery tray and on the battery.
3. Attach the battery onto tray before flight.
4. Get another velcro wrap and put it around the battery+battery tray. Lightweight velcro is cleanest.

Never had a problem with the battery coming loose or hitting the motor even during piroutting flips. I crashed my T-rex straight into the ground nose down this weekend. Broke the entire head off the heli but the battery was fine on the tray.

Thanks, I'll give those a try. Sparked it up for a quick test and this chopper looks like a lot of fun once I get everthing sorted on it.
