Hi,
I am looking to get a Corona. I will go brushless right away. Reading the post on the Corona, I think I will get an Axi 2814/10. The question I have is regarding the pinion. From what I read, for this motor I would need something between 17 to 19 teeth pinion gear. Could you tell me what pitch are the gear in the Corona. Also if you could tell me what are the best gear to order.

They use a 32 pitch and on a stock Corona it is a 9 tooth, so what you are looking at is way high.

Yes, but the AXI is a low RPM, High torq motor. This is why I need 17 to 19 pinion.

Then go for it, I think you will heat your bateries and controller up with a low RPM motor. Why don't you just go with what others have found works.

well, axi motor is 5mm shaft, which means you will have to drill a gear out (or get one setup for 5mm)

for 3.2mm shaft, I've used Traxxas Emaxx rc car pinion. for 5mm shaft though, I don't know if there is enough meat to drill out. Robinson racing pinion gear will work, but they are bit on the smaller side. (there is enough meat there to drill though) you may be able to get one from SDP-SI.com.

most people run 2820/10 motor with Ballistic Technology belt drive. it is 4:1 ratio belt drive and works great. (I have a setup with mega RC600-6 motor with this belt system)
