I just tested the capability of thr onboard BEC of the CC45 ESC. I've put a fictive load on the BEC (3.5 ohms) and feed the ESC with a 3S lipo. The BEC put out 1.4A and hold 4.8V for about 10 sec then it drop to under 3V. I've measured the power needed to feed my servo/gyro/receiver and it can go high as 2.1A, no wonder why I had lockout.

Conclusion: DO NOT USE THE CC45 ONBOARD BEC THE FEED THE ELECTRONIC OF YOUR EOLO.

Good work

My UBEC has been working well

Which servos and gyro did you use to determine your load? Were you moving the servos while measuring the load?

I was moving all servos at the same time rapidly, but with no load on them.

I'll buy a CC 60, but I think I'll be buying a seperate 35 volt UBEC too.

I got the CC60 and had the same lockout problems, was running R148DP, GY401, HS81, 3xHS55

Now that I am running same receiver and gyro with 9253 and 3x3150 it could only be worse.

I switched to the Jazz controller but it only drains my 3S2P down to 11.5 before losing power whereas the CC60 drew it down to 10.5 before losing power.

I think with the torroidal ring added and the UBEC added the CC60 will be a perhaps better controller. Soft start is not nearly as good, so just pre-spin the blades before starting up.

So for my new Eolo I am building I will use the CC60 with the ring and UBEC

Here's the BEC that I made myself, It can push 2.5 amps continous and 4 amps peak, about 1.75 times the CC45's BEC capabillity, I paralleled both so I'll have a total of 3.75 amps.
