I have been reading and personally battling running out of channels with a GV-1 on a 9 channel receiver and trying to get extra channels for a camera mount. For what I wanted to do I was needing two extra channels that I wanted to be proportional with atv adjustment when I was already using 8 as listed below:

1-aileron
2-elevator
3-throttle (GV-1)
4-rudder
5-gyro
6-pitch
7-GV-1 aux rpm
8-GV-1 aux on/off
9/B-Battery

My first step was trying to find a way to keep my GV-1, an idle up function for a second headspeed and pitch range when the camera is not mounted, and still have two proportional channels for my camera mount so I could have tilt on one proportional channel and the shutter switch/picture review on another proportional. Clearly I realized that I needed to unplug something.

Well I started by disconnecting the channel 8 GV-1 on/off switch and got one proportional channel. It was pretty easy for me to get rid of this channel because I have never switched off my GV-1 in three years. So then I was looking at channel 9. Problem being channel 9 is an all or nothing channel that can only be reversed with no ATV adjustment and can't be on a three position switch. It is either on or off as most of you know and as I stated earlier I need two fully proportional channels so this was not going to work.

So I was typing this fella a PM last night and I got this wild notion that maybe I can still keep the aux rpm for idle up and still have two proportional channels for my camera mount.

This is what I did and every indication on the GV-1 through all switch conditions indicates it will work. So here is where I have stuff plugged in:

1-aileron
2-elevator
3-throttle (GV-1)
4-rudder
5-gyro
6-pitch
7-camera tilt (fully proportional on left slider)
8-shutter switch (three position switch center is neutral, up is shutter, down is picture review.
9/B-GV-1 aux rpm and battery on a Y harness

And it works. When you set the GV-1 you will only get S1 and S3 for your rpm options and if you use the top left front three position switch you get normal mode for S1 and Idle 1 and Idle 2 toggle to S3.

I have searched around and not seen a post that gave any of this info. If I am the only one here that did not know this than I apologize for my feeling that I found an option for proportional extra channels while still keeping the gv1 with idle up. If you are wondering why I would want a camera ship to have an idle up function it is because I still want to be able to fly the heli for 3D when I don't have the camera mount on it. To get two proportional channels before I knew this would only be possible if I went back to pitch curves and eliminated the GV-1. I did not want to eliminate the GV-1. Now I don't think I will have to.

Thanks for reading. Don't beat me up too bad.
