Well my build is close to finish but cam across something. When tighten up the fazing on the head the washout base locked up on the main shaft. After a few minutes of messing with it I got it right. Seems when you tighten up the faze ring it also snugs up the washout pins. After taking off the links and rotating the washout base 180 deg it is alot better and will move now but still snug. Hope it will wear in after a few flights.

Anyone else have this happen to them?

Also why sell a kit that comes with a fan tapped for a os motor but gearing for a ys motor? It wouldn't cost TT that much to just add the 91 tooth main gear in the kit that way you have the os gearing (8.27) along with the ys (8.45) Hope to have some pic's up next week some time.

i have 2 SE's and both times the wash out was as you describe..

put it into the pins one way and colective is really stiff......turn the locking ring 180 degrees and it was great...........

both fly great and i have not had any problems with them..

Ya Steven I turned the faze ring first and then the washout to fin which was best. It is still stiff but I think after a few beatings it should be ok. I also tweaked the pins a little which helped alot.

Also another thing I noticed was with the sb16fh the bottom of the header was very close to the lower carbon plate. I mean it was about .003" and could touch and cause rf in flight. Not sure if this is the case with all sb16fh mufflers so it would be a good thing to check if using that muffler. I sanded it down a couple mm to clear the plate.

Hey Sluggo,
I had to dremel a little more than that on my machine. I'll put some pics in my gallery. Let me know about your CG. I'm trying the CX dampers next. Sure was great to see you guys!

I'm trying the KO's on my next build (probably an Avant) along with a BEC. With the servos running straight off the battery, you push much less current through the receiver. I'm sure the U-BEC can deal with it and I'm sure I'll get more out of my batteries...

Will send more jellies your way the next time I see you in Ohio, eh!

Well did my first flights on the R90se today. The heli was almost perfect right off the first hop and tracked no prob. After a few warm up flightsd to make sure everything was working good I let loose with a little. This heli tracks very well and performs great.

Man I can't wait tell I can fly it again tomorrow to get more time on it. Hope to have some pic's up monday.

I saw Sluggo beating his heli today and I am very impressed with the way the Raptor 90 SE flies. Mine is almost ready to fly and I should have it in the air by next weekend. I am looking forward to beating on it as well .

Fly it like you stole it baby!!!!!

hey mike you should have been in Guelph today. Got 3 tanks throw the R90 and let her loose a little. The heli was on rails and the Curtis circles where very very fast and well locked in. tail down and nose down funnels where child's play and 400' foot slides where hands off. Man this heli gets moving very fast to in tail slides. Jack knifes are also very locked and sweet.

Still working on the autos, got a few low inverted ones today but still no piro flips autos yet. Maybe this weekend when I get the heli tweaked a little more.

Looking good Chris. I am sure if there is any weak spots in the heli you will find them, Saw you fly and you fly hard but smooth. Chuck

...add one more to the bandwagon - R90 SE in the house.

Flying's started to feel more like work than fun lately - hope this fixes that.

I've been waiting for the alum clutch stack retainer forever twas projected in two months....that was four months ago....I got sick of waiting and am machining my own with help from a friend on board one of the ships I used to fly off of.

Ask your Doctor if getting off your ass is right for you.

Hey Jeff - not much time to fly (or wrench) these days - my R60 back in the day was pound for pound the most FUN heli I've owned to date - hope the R90 will be the same.

21 days and counting
