Wow, I just went and looked at Roman's photo gallery, there's a few pics of me in there from around 15 years ago... at least looking at my hair and clothes I'd call it around 15 years ago...

looked like a Heli Hippie back then. Maybe around 73rd Avenue? or the old Seaview?

That shot was at Seaview Ave., but I flew mostly at the 73rd avenue dust bowl back in those days... did you fly there much?

No, but I remember seeing you there with your GMP or something. You were a wild pilot back then> no HH gyro, no Digital Servos, maybe mechanical Gyros not yet Solid State? Just plain GUTS.

I had the GMP's back in like 1986 or around then... that's going back a ways.

Where do you fly nowadays? I still go out to 73rd avenue when the field is empty and the weather is decent...

I flew there once last spring, but the parking if you're not a member is kinda rough. At the time there weren't any openings for new members.

I'll probably be looking to join this year if there are any spots open... it's a really nice site and a great bunch of people there.

There are several openings as of now, and it would be wise to join now. Call Roman at (718) 296-0261 for membership. Unfortunately the non-member paking is pretty far away, but if you call us at the gate, we can let you in to unload your helis and we'll give you a lift back in.

Scott

P.s. FYI, we just received donations from Rick's R/C and Hobbies & Heli's. Thanks for your support.

I have a feeling this is going to be a good FunFly. Unlike the one at Floyd Bennett 2 years ago, a lot of people don't like to fly helis off of concrete.

BTW Apples, I am a member of the new SRW but I thought the name was being changed to BridgeView Rotory Wings. If you look at the opening picture on the website, that's me third from the left.

Chulo,

I am a 2005 new member; and, I barely hover without wetting myself....The few times I got into the field with my buddy Luther, I had no choice but to relax in the hover, with the panorama of the bridge, the water and the trees before me...The best part, with nobody's derision, just constructive criticism...

Hope I get to meet you at the next meeting.

Roy, I wish you the best of luck. And you are RIGHT> that panorama is beautiful. Bill Dietrich says it's the best piece of real estate in Brooklyn.
