Any heli guys in Bozeman, MT? I've been thinking about migrating there in the next couple of years, and wonder what the heli world there is like.

It's pretty much non-existant. The closest guys you will find to fly with live in Billings, the home of Heliproz.

There are a few fellows in Bozeman who have them. I get the Gallatin Eagles newsletter monthly (grew up in Bozeman from 1964 through 1984) and was a member of the Bozeman Air Tragedy Society/Bozeman Airmodeler's Telemetry Society for years. That group is now gone, and has been replaced by the Gallatin Eagles.

I can email or PM the names of some local contacts there to ask. The Eagles have a new flying site south of town, towards the mouth of the Gallatin Canyon on land owned by Montana State University.

I was one of the heli pioneers in Montana way back in the DuBro 505, early Heliboy and Miniboy days.....it's a great place to fly.

I live in Bozeman and I fly heli's. we have an RC club about 5 min out side of town. It's not just a heli club. We just installed a new Blacktop runway! anyway there are about five of us who fly heli's. Two are way into raptors. One guys is into T-rex's (450 and 600, he also has two gassers) and one guy has a Kyosho nexsus. I have a Hirobo Sceadu evo 30 and a Trex 450SE i also have a Blade CP but in my mind that is a toy. any way bozeman rocks!!

I lived there for 20 years. Was a member of the Bozeman Air Tragedy Society, we later changed the name to the Bozeman Airmodeler's Telemetry Society (needed to keep the "B.A.T.S." acronym). The BATS eventually fizzled out to be replaced by the Eagles.

I was the first flyer in Bozeman with an RC Helicopter -- the DuBro Whirlybird 505. I graduated to an American RC Helicopters Revolution, then to a Heliboy and MiniBoy before I left for greener pastures (aka a real JOB).

22 years later, if I didn't have to earn a living, I'd be back there tomorrow. Great place to live.

I: applyed at lowes but they drug test (ah college experementing days :eek any way i love it here and If your friend wanted to get into the hobby i would love to help! I also fly planes to if he is interested and on tuseday nights durring the summer we offer free flight instruction. I have a trainer and buddy box so tell him to come to our next meating. OUr club website is Gallatineagles.org and thats where he or she (i'm not sure you spesified) can find info on our club.

I'LL BE MOVING TO BOSEMAN THE LATER PART OF 2014 WHEN I RETIRE.
THE COST OF LIVING IN CT. IS WAY TO HIGH. I FLY SCALE AND SOME EASY 3D. ALSO SNOWBOARD, MTN. BIKE AND KAYAK. THAT WILL BE MY KIND OF PLACE TO LIVE OUT MY LATER YEARS.
HOPE TO SEE YA OUT THERE.

Dang. Lucky you. I pretty much grew up in Bozeman, spending about 20 years there, starting in 5th grade and 12 years post graduate from Montana State U.

If I didn't have to earn a living, I'd be there yesterday.

And you're only a 140 miles from Heliproz! Can't beat THAT with a stick.

Flyboywbl,
If your still in Boseman in about 4 yrs, I'll look you up. I'm fixin to stop at Heliproz on the way out and load up my trailer with some goodies. Retiring in Ct. would cost me a heep of money, would have to give up some of my hobbies. How's the part time job situation out in boseman. Will be look for anything to supplement the cash flow.

Since he's moving there, I'm sure he'll figure it out eventually once he understands why the mail man just drives past his mailbox and never delivers anything.
