Hi All,

I purchased the Evo Sceadu 50 ARF which comes partially assembled with the motor installed. The engine is the OS-50SXH with 60L carb. I have a couple of questions to ask.

Firstly, The instructions included an Addendum for setups using this carb. I have attached this detail to this post for comment. Anyway, when I follow these changes the setup doesnt seem to work for me. I have no where enough throw. I can get around this by upping the ATV settings but I just want the make sure as this is all new to me. The manual tells me what the ATV's should be if setup correctly. Why do they say to move the arm clockwise by one spline after everything is square. I can only assume that it makes the throttle response more linear.

Secondly, I tried tuning the engine and carb combo on the weekend. Engine seems very rich in midrange and lean on idle. What are typical needle seetings for this combo using 15%nitro and 20% synthetic oil.

Thirdly, I am using the Hirobo issued muffler. I have read that a lot of people are removing the baffle. Is this suggested to get a better running engine. Power isnt an issue for me at this stage.

Cant seem to get the image on this post. Please see my gallery for the information sheet.

Thanks for your help

Peter

cant comment on the other stuff, but about the muffler - i would think a higher quality muffler would do a better job.

Here´s the picture from your gallery.

If you sets it up as they suggest the throttle movement will be equal at both sides. Always useful to have a good mechanical setup (note that it is set with the throttle stick at 50%). Make sure to adjust the ATV (both low and high) so the linkage dont bind.

I think you should get a new muffler for your nice heli, Hatori #544 is a nice one.

Good Luck Peter.

Hi Mr Noodles,

Thanks for the response,

When I position the ball link at 13mm from the centre of the servo as per instructions I will not get enough throw even with the ATV's maxed out. I have postioned the ball link at 14mm with ATV's set out at 118% and 85% respectively.

I think I have it setup right. With my throttle stick at 50% the carb lines up with the right hand side mark of the 3 that are grouped together.

I have a WC2 aero radio. What is the best practice in heli's to setup a kill switch?

Thanks again

Peter
