Have a couple of X-cell questions
1. what the hell is this for? the gold thing.

Can you tell me which model this is? has a bunch of gold anodized parts, carbon boom, plastic servo tray.

That part is meant to be a visual aid to help the builder to align the tail rotor transmission bearing block. That is a standard bent frame X-Cell. Looks like it in very good condition for such an old model.

That model has enough added extras like the metal washout arms to make its spec different from any kit that MA ever produced, but p/p collective and elevator on a bent frame model would make it closest to an X-Cell 60 Custom. It'll fly well; don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Could this be causing glitches? You can lift it slightly from the frame. Flying FM and this is the only thing I could find that was "loose".

On the carbon frames you have to make sure that you press the studs in the one side as shown in the instructions and not overtighten the other side. Dont know how the transblock is set up on the bent frames but on the CF If you do it wrong it wont snug up and then it will tend to lift. Never had a glitch problem with it and I ran that on several machines and setting it up on one right now. MA went back to that style transmission set up for replacements on the PRO2K
