Has anyone tried modding the stock blades with a thin cf rod? I like the way the stockers fly but I think they'd be even better if they were stiffer. CAing a CF rod along the length would stiffen them right up. Obviously a channel would have to be cut out to glue the rod into.

Cheers

hi
you can get cf tape or ribbon that you could bond top and bottom , might be better then cutting a slot through the skin

AAAAARGH!!!

I tried cutting a groove for the CF rod. This turned out to be a bad idea as the blade became very floppy having a slit right along it's length. I then placed the CF rod in place and applied the CA. The CA melted the foam Nevermind, you live and learn I guess.

I have a set of woodies which came free with a Trex bought from flying-hobby (I'm not getting that until Christmas) which are exactly the same size as the stock foamies - shorter than the Align woodies, they are actually freebies and had a flying-hobby label on the pack. These turned out to be lighter than my SABs (now trashed ) but heavier than the foamies. I'll try to get a test flight on them tomorrow.

Cheers

Should've used "foam safe" CA. Maybe next time.
