Hi,

I have a problem with my new m24. The build in gyro on the controller block doesn’t work. I’m basally flying without a gyro and the tail swings a lot. I have a real hard time to get it under control.

If I hold the heli in my hands and swing the tail the tail doesn’t try to work against me. If I hold the controller block in my hands (out of the heli) and rotate it fast, the tail engine doesn’t change speed at all. So, clearly the gyro isn’t doing his job.

Anyone else has this problem? There are no trims on the controller block.

If I recall correctly, the M24 needs to have a certain headspeed before the gyro starts working. With the throttle at the bottom position, the gyro doesn't do anything.

Also, of course, you need to press the little button that enables the main motor before the gyro kicks in..

I understand that you've done all this when you're flying, but are you sure it's the gyro, and not the fact that the M24 is pretty sloppy with its tail?

Hi James I’ve tested the tail with a “hovering” head speed. This must be a gyro problem, the tail doesn’t compensate at al if I swing it. (or if I swing the controller board loose from the heli)

Im not an expert but i agree it sounds like a gyro problem are you letting the gyro time to zero it self usually 5 seconds i am thinking of getting a m24 do you advise against it

The M24 is a nice little fixed-pitch heli, however, I wouldn't recommend it to a beginner, since larger models are much, much more stable.

It is possible to learn on it, but it would make an already steep learning-curve even steeper imho.
