Oh dear I was doing so well today. On my third tank, 2nd gallon of fuel.. Nice spot turns and steady hover.

It just seemed to fall out of the sky but my guess is that I lost concentration I should have stopped after 2 tanks straight off no rest, but I couldn’t resist just filling up and doing it again !

Anyway when my baby crashed the rotor got lodged in the mud, the engine was stuck on fast idle and the transmitter would control it - so I could pull the kill switch.

When I got to it there was a very strong smell of burning rubber and a black deposit on top of the fuel tank. I presume I've burnt the clutch.

1. How will I know if its burnt out ?
2. Should I not bother to look and just replace It ?
3. Any tips for replacement (I haven't looked to see if there is suitable article on raptor technique).

I would be grateful for any help you can give me. Thank you.

Off to order more parts now !!! Its a hard hobby this isn't it !!

youll probably have to replace the clutch linner, raptor technique can give you info on how to replace it. or you can just get a new tt clutch bell with the new linner in it for about 15.00 bucks. i would also just replace the clutch too, there not that expensive and everything will be new and ready to go.

The clutch liner costs only 2-3 US$ (set of two) and it's not so hard to change just follow Raptortechnique 's instructions.

Same happened to me two months ago. Even though now my clutch engages very low and I have to take the engine out again and sand the new liner a little.
