Hi Guys,

Battling to get my 9Z WCII working with my new Reflex XTR.

Tx works fine with Truflight, but damned if I can get past the "switch on your transmitter" message with Reflex.

Uninstalled and installed the software a few times, updated software to latest version from website, Tx is set to PPM, have updated the USB driver to the Reflex one, tried all the USB ports on the PC, have disconnected every other USB connection, have tried reversing the wires in the plug and removing the solder bridge.

Basically, I have run every possible combination I can think of, and about every possible cure that I can find on the 'net, without getting past the "switch on your transmitter" message. Got to say I am far from impressed with Reflex - I am hardly using a new transmitter - the 9Z has been around for years. The level of support and assistance on the web site is far from substantial.

I'd appreciate anyone's feedback about what worked for them with their 9Z - I have run out of ideas and I am really keen to actually use this software that I have paid AUD$300+ for.

Thanks,

Dave

A common fix is to swap and resolder the white and brown cable. It has happened a lot of times that these cables are in the wrong position. In my cable white goes to the center and the brown goes to shield.

Thanks Guys.

I have sent an e-mail to the Reflex guys, and as per the first e-mail, have already tried the wire swap without success.

Also pulled the dongle apart to see if the resistors which the Reflex website suggested be removed were there, but they were not there.

I hope the Reflex guys come to the party with a prompt answer.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Cheers,

Dave

DaveC,

I am using Reflex with a 9z and had a similar issue to what you are describing. The fix for my problem was that the din connector th at plugs into the 9z was not in far enough so not all pins were making proper contact. It looked like it was plugged in properly because the Tx would switch on but Reflex would not recognize it. I pushed the connector in with a little force and it has been working flawlessly now for months.

Not sure if this will fix your issues but just a suggestion .

Thanks Guys.

I put the CRO on the cable to see if there were any connection problems, and it is picking up the signal. I measured a nice clean 2.5V P-P signal. I measured it on the dongle circuit board to make sure that the signal was getting to the dongle.

I also tried a friend's dongle (so to speak!) and it didn't work either.

Not sure where to from here since it sounds like Reflex support doesn't exist from the number of posts complaining about it.

Thanks Anyway,

Dave
