I just got my first pair of carbon-blades, and after I balanced them I went to put them on the heli..

However, I noticed that the base of the blades werent as thick as on the stock wood blades. The carbons are about a millimeter thinner than the woodies..

I can "squeese" the grip together with the bolt that holds the blade, but is this wise? It's not much, but since this is my first pair, I felt it was time to ask someone more experienced..

So, what do you think? Do I need thicker carbon blades, spacers or am I good to go as I am now?

/James

the blades may have come w/ a package of spacers. different blades have diff. thicknesses
and most of the time, the problem is solved by
using spacers. You are probably off by 2mm
so you'd use 2 1mm spacers above and below

Well, whaddy'a know?

I thought I had emptied the box the blades came in, but after reading your post, I gave it another shake.. And out came a bag of spacers.

There's only room for one spacer per blade tough. Should I put it above or below the blade, or doesn't it matter ?

Thanks a bunch,
James

I'd probably put it on the bottom.

there might be some aerodynamic reason
to prefer one way over another but I'm not aware
of it.
